In continued efforts to keep our community informed of the impact of COVID-19 on the school environment, the district will post and maintain COVID data on our website as it is presented to us.
Active totals simply demonstrate the current students and/or staff that are confirmed positive through testing. A positive case has to isolate for 10 days after the onset of symptoms. If symptoms are improved and without fever, they may return on day 11 with release from the health department.
Once a person tests positive, the health department will begin tracing. They will start tracing a positive person from 48 hours prior to symptoms appearing, looking for close contacts.
A close contact is defined as someone within 6ft, unmasked for greater than 15 minutes.
If a person meets the conditions of a close contact, they are placed in quarantine for 14 days from the time of their contact with the positive patient.
Quarantine totals demonstrate a community impact. Understand that many of the quarantines affecting the school are a result of outside school exposures.
We hope this will help in understanding the processes the school and the health department are required to use and offer current, accurate data to our community. Covid Active Totals
