Congratulations to Robyn Shearer on being named The Outstanding Rural Educator of the Year by the Missouri Association of Rural Education!!!!!!
Every Year the Missouri Association of Soil and Water Conservation District’s has an awards program which includes the Missouri Conservation Educator of the Year.
This year as the Benton Co. SWCD was working with the schools on the Coloring and Poster Contest, Mary Weant of Cole Camp’s 5th and 6th grade stuck heavily on the minds of the Benton Co. SWCD staff.
The Benton County Soil and Water Conservation District has a large program for the NACD Poster Contest and offers it to all the schools in the county. A coloring contest for K thru 3rd grades (a local program) and the poster contest for 4th thru 6th grades (which advance to the state competition as well). Mrs. Weant is one of the first teachers to reply to our request regarding interest in the poster contest each year. As part of their grade, all her 5th and 6th grade students are “required” to complete a conservation poster for our contest, and their grade weighs heavily on this portion of their work.
As the contest ended and the results were in, Mrs. Weant was determined to be “the teacher”!! Her classes (2- 5th grades and 3-6th grades), each range from 20 to 28 students per class and each year it is her goal to sweep the county with winners from these classes and this year she was successful. First, Second and Third places were awarded to all students in her classes (5th and 6th grades) from the entire county.
Mrs. Weant is always in attendance at the Coloring and Poster Contest Awards Ceremony provided by the Benton Co. SWCD, to cheer on her students and those from the rest of the county for the awards they are presented and the amazing work they have done.
In addition to the 2017 MASWCD Area Award that was presented to Mrs. Weant on August 1st, it is with great pleasure that we announce Mrs. Mary Weant will be receiving the 2017 Missouri Conservation Youth Educator of the Year Award.

Their Coach, Jenny Harms is proud to say that “Cole Camp has had All-American cheerleaders now for 5 years in a row!”

Please join Dr. Tim Roling, the superintendent in the school library for coffee and conversation. These are informal events where community members are invited to stop by, grab a cup of coffee and chat with the Superintendent and enjoy a time of fellowship. There is no agenda or specific topics to be discussed, this is a time to socialize and get to know each other on more of a personal level, and to simply discuss things going on at school. If you prefer to discuss something that would be better suited to a personal conversation feel free to schedule an appointment at your convenience. Whether or not you currently have children in school, the community plays a large role in the success of our school and we value our relationship with you. Looking forward to enjoying a cup of coffee with you! The upcoming dates and times are as follows: October 26th at 7:00 a.m., November 16th at 6:00 p.m., and December 21st at 7:00 a.m.
